Great Ways to Save Money on Your Food Prep

With a new season upon us, you're probably thinking about all the things that were perhaps a little less frugal than you would have preferred - like all the meals you paid for at restaurants when you could have made them yourself. Or if you've made it as far as bringing lunch, perhaps you're considering meal prep.

If you don't know what that means, meal prep is exactly what it sounds like: preparing meals ahead of time. Not only will you save money compared to eating out, but with a little planning, you'll reduce what you spend on food significantly.

The Flow of Money

When it comes to money, most of us look at it as something that comes to us and then goes away from us. We hope that what comes to us is greater than what goes away, but more often than not, well...not.

Consider for a moment that this construct of the flow of money is actually incomplete. What if money actually flows in a circle - to us, through us, away from us, then back around to us again, with a reservoir on the side that we get to keep?

Pericles Rellas's picture

Pericles Rellas is a prosperity coach who, for over 20 years, has worked with tens of thousands of people to live lives of power, purpose, and prosperity.

Almost 25 years ago he noticed that his business clients exhibited what he now calls a ‘condition’ around money. Regardless of how much more they made, their situation and experience around money remained the same - stress, anxiety, dread, and just treading water or being behind. He set out to understand why and how to transform this condition. Thus the birth of Abundance & Prosperity.

There are myriad coaches who are great at helping you make more money. Pericles is one of the few who actually works with you to not only create powerful (and empowering) structures to manage the flow of money in your life, but also to transform your relationship to money. By combining these approaches, it allows you to expand your capacity to earn and keep more money, thus having and experiencing Abundance & Prosperity in your life right now. All while maintaining your personal spiritual path.

It is not about working harder or more - it’s about your relationship to money.

Our Childish Money Conversations

Imagine a 60-year-old stomping their foot on the ground, crossing their arms and shouting ‘But I want to!’

Most of us are able to see that this type of behavior is something we upgrade as we get more mature. We know that what worked when we were a child probably doesn’t work today.

But what about our money conversations?

Honor Money and it Will Honor You

I often draw the correlation between how we relate to money and how we relate to someone we love. Because when we treat the ones we love with honor, respect, and appreciation, the depth of our relationship is strengthened and their desire to be with us is enhanced. Both are elevated resulting in a more powerful and fulfilling relationship.

The same is true for money.

How to Discuss Money With Your Significant Other

Dollars and Sense

Talking about money with your partner can be uncomfortable, especially if you don’t see eye to eye on how to handle problems, or if you’re coming into the situation with vastly different financial backgrounds.

You and Money, A Visualized Future

Intro:

I remember hearing a motivational speaker talk at a college leadership conference back in the day. He was talking about the power of visualization and had us do a silly exercise where we kept our feet in place and twisted as far around as possible from our torso, marking the farthest spot with our eyes. Then he really tried to pump us up, telling us about how flexible the human spine is, etc. After that, we tried again, and almost everyone twisted much further than before… wow!.. Mind blown.

His overall idea is to look at spending decisions as investments: what decisions will return the most value to you over time?

Each scenario is evaluated over a 10-year horizon with the following summary statistics:

Present value – what is the total value of your investment and expected returns in today’s dollars?
Return on investment (ROI) – how much of your original investment will you make back?
Payback period – how long will it take you to recoup your original investment?

How Much is Your Free Time Worth?

Intro:

Regular readers will know that I’m always talking about and incorporating time costs into my ROI Analyses. The idea is that nobody’s time is really free. We all trade time for money and money for time at some point in our lives (think: work).
