Perseverance is committing to something, working hard towards achieving it, and not giving up despite any obstacle or setback.

These goals or milestones in life are what give us purpose and meaning and define who we are.

There is absolutely nothing like the feeling you have when you accomplish a goal that you’ve been working toward for a long time.

What did it take to get there? How many steps were involved? How many tasks did you complete? What kind of obstacles did you go around? What setbacks did you have? How long did it take?

I’m sure that the more challenges you faced and the more difficult those challenges were, the more enhanced was your feeling of accomplishment once you reached your goal.

This is where the old saying “nothing worthwhile is ever easy” comes from. I’m sure you’ve heard that many times in many variations.

Consider some of your previous accomplishments. Some of them might have been such things as getting through college, paying off debt, becoming a certified yoga instructor, or launching a business.

Now take a moment to lay out some future goals. Some of them might include things such as losing weight, doing an Iron Man competition, launching a fitness website, or even raising children to become responsible and loving adults.

What is it going to take to reach those goals?

Hopefully, you’re in a position to consider where you would be if you had given up or not worked hard enough.

Maybe your current position is of disappointment for not having worked hard enough or something out of your control that has derailed you.

It’s not too late to redefine your goals or reevaluate your next steps. It’s never too late! There will be times when you feel like quitting. There will be pain, and disappointment, and setbacks. These difficulties will push you to your edge. Hang in there and don’t give up. Remember that nothing worthwhile is ever easy. TRUST that your goals, dreams, and desires are worthwhile!

Where am I in all of this? I have an ambitious goal of creating a fitness-related business that is a lot more than just an enthusiastic blog. I want my website and my business to motivate you, entertain you, and provide real value to you for spending your time with me.

It’s been a tremendous learning curve to get to where I am, and I’m not even close to where I want to be. Every day is a challenge to meet my expectations of providing a great health and fitness website for you.

I do find purpose in the effort and I am passionate about this work. I am determined to persevere.

I’m finding my edge.
